Completed the rehabilitation of the runway for take-off and landing at Varna airport -6 weeks/ 7Days/ 24Hours 150 000t of Asphalt

The airport resumed operation of flights and passengers after completion of major infrastructure projects to rehabilitate the runway and landing.
In the preparation and implementation of the project, which was accomplished keeping the planned time limit, ‘Fraport Twin Star Airport Management’ Ltd, concessionaire of the airport, invested in this project nearly 40 million lev.
There were put about 150 000 tons asphalt, the shoulders of the runway landing were extended for more safety, a new drainage system was built and the whole light system of the airport runway was changed.
The whole building process lasted for 24 hours every day with no stops with complicated logistics and working organization provided to synchronize the work of all the transportation, building and asphalting machines which were doing job simultaneously 24 hours a day.
Additionally for the project realization by Ingstroyengineering Ltd were built two brand new hi-tech polymer modified asphalt factories each having a capacity of 240 tons per hour.
For completing the construction works Fraport entered into a contract with a famous German company Max Bögl Bauunternehmung GmbH & Co. KG. Partner on Bulgarian's side is Ingstroyengineering.
The successful project implementation is essential both for long-term airport development and for business development and tourism industry of Varna and Northeastern region.
